Result-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) CourseCOURSE OVERVIEWAt this moment when government performance is to be measured based on results as required in the big result now (BRN) initiative the need of having in a place a system that allows measuring of results is inevitable. Measuring of results is only possible where a Result Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) system is in place. This course is designed to introduce the participants to the principles and processes involved in developing, managing and using RBME system effectively in their professional arena. Government institutions can no longer rely on trends to show how the government is working but the public, politicians and development partners now wants to see results. The programme will enable participants not only to design and start a RBME system at their working place but will also enable them to carry out monitoring and evaluation of government’s policies, programmes and projects using appropriate tools. LEARNING OBJECTIVESDelivered by participatory practitioners with extensive field experience, this is the 1ST Tanzania leading Result Based M&E course using action learning technique. At the end of this Workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the M&E, objectives and the focus of Result Based M&E
  • Understand the contribution of Results Based M&E towards managing and achieving the goal for BRN initiative
  • Differentiate project success from failure with the aim of gaining lessons
  • Differentiate Implementation focused Evaluation from Result Based M&E
  • Integrate Result Based M&E Philosophy in the Project Cycle Management
  • Stepwise Design and start a result based M&E system
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators to measure outcomes, baseline and SMART target setting.
  • Report and use the Result Based M&E Information for Evidence Based Decisions
